MGM College Hosts Vibrant Annual Cultural-Cum-Literary Meet

MGM College came alive with colours, creativity, and cultural pride as it celebrated its Annual Cultural-Cum-Literary Meet on March 1. The event showcased a rich blend of intellectual and artistic expressions, bringing together students and faculty in a spirit of learning and tradition. The program commenced with an invocation address by Temjenzungla Aier, Assistant Professor, Department of History, setting a solemn and reflective tone. This was followed by the presidential address delivered by Fr. Giju George, Administrator, who emphasized the significance of holistic education through cultural and literary pursuits. Highlighting the cultural significance of the event, Chunchamwiliu Newmai, Cultural Secretary, spoke about the importance of preserving and celebrating diverse traditions in an academic space.

The literary session featured engaging competitions, including debate, slam poetry, spelling bee, art competition, and essay writing, allowing students to showcase their eloquence, creativity, and critical thinking skills. The cultural session was a vibrant display of heritage and talent, with performances such as cultural dance, traditional storytelling, traditional attire showcase, folk fusion song, winnowing, and a talent show. These events captivated the audience, reflecting the diverse traditions and artistic expressions of the students. The event culminated with a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing outstanding participants across various competitions. In closing, Ahikali I. Jhaka, Head of the Department of English, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all contributors, participants, and organizers. The event concluded with a benediction by Luthokhi Dozo, President of the Evangelical Union (EU), bringing the celebrations to a meaningful close. The Annual Cultural-Cum-Literary Meet at MGM College once again reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to nurturing talent, fostering creativity, and preserving cultural heritage.
