INDUSTRIAL VISIT: A PRACTICAL LEARNING EXPERIENCE

The Department of Economics and the Department of Commerce, MGM College successfully organized an industrial visit to a Polymer Pipe Industry in Golaghat. A total of 35 students and 5 faculty members participated in this educational experience, aimed at providing first-hand exposure to industrial operations and economic insights.

The primary objective of the visit was to understand the manufacturing process of polymer pipes, explore industry technology and operations, and assess the economic impact of such industries on the local economy. Students engaged in interactive discussions with industry professionals, gaining valuable knowledge about the production process, raw materials, technological advancements, market demand, environmental considerations, and career prospects in the polymer manufacturing sector. One of the key takeaways from the visit was understanding how polymer pipes manufactured at this facility are supplied across all North-Eastern states of India, contributing significantly to regional infrastructure development. Additionally, the visit shed light on the role of such industries in employment generation, economic growth, and industrial expansion.

The practical exposure provided by this visit was invaluable in bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industrial applications. The Departments of Economics and Commerce extend their sincere gratitude to the management and staff of the Polymer Pipe Industry for their warm hospitality, guidance, and support in making this visit a truly enriching and insightful experience for the students and faculty.
