Library Advisory Committee (LAC)
The Library Advisory Committee (LAC) is the most appropriate body for the purposes of maintenance and development of the library and decision-making at the policy level. The LAC is engaged in the planning and improvement of the college library and is supposed to advise the librarian or Library staff in policy matters regarding the library. The Librarian/library staff has exclusive responsibility for the routine management of the library, whereas overall administrative policy is controlled by the Advisory Committee.
Objectives and Functions
- Formulate the policy, rules, and regulations for the Library
- Supervise and approval for Library Budget and allocation of funds under different expenditure heads.
- Conduct annual stock verification.
- To advise the Librarian/Library staff for development proposals.
- To take strategic decisions regarding acquisition and disposal of Library reading material/ resources
- Make necessary provision for Library building, furniture, equipment, reading material and staff, etc. in the Library
- To seek feedback from the library users.
- To recommend the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) regarding development plans of the Library
- To ensure good governance of the Library
