AIDA HOSTS TRANSFORMATIVE COUNSELING TRAINING

Dimapur, January 24, 2025 – In a significant step toward strengthening career guidance, AIDA (ANMA Integrated Development Association), Dimapur, in collaboration with the Don Bosco Job Placement Network, hosted a one-day career counseling training titled "How to Become a Career Guide." Over 35 educators, counselors, vocational trainers, and social workers participated, gaining invaluable insights into effective career mentoring in today’s competitive job market. MGM College was represented by Ms. Sangeeta Kumari (dept of Education) and Ms. Lopilo P yanthan (Department of Commerce)

The training was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Fr. Roy George SDB, Executive Director of AIDA, who underscored the transformative power of career counseling in shaping young minds. He also honored the resource persons:

  • Rev. Fr. Gabriel Karunaraj SDB, National Director, Don Bosco Job Placement Network
  • Rev. Fr. Renigo Roy SDB, Assistant Professor, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur

Both experts shared their extensive knowledge, inspiring participants to take a proactive role in career mentoring and student empowerment.

The intensive session covered practical strategies and cutting-edge resources to help career guides provide informed guidance. Highlights included:

  • Multiple Intelligences & Career Mapping – Participants explored Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, learning how to align career paths with individual strengths.
  • Job Hunting Strategies – Fr. Gabriel SDB introduced digital job search tools, including the Don Bosco Job Placement Network and government portals like NCS, offering job search hacks and employability tips.
  • Higher Education & Government Jobs – The session provided in-depth guidance on competitive exams (NEET, JEE), scholarships (NSP, PMSSS), and government job opportunities (UPSC, SSC, AFCAT).

The training received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with participants appreciating its practical approach, expert insights, and real-world applications. Many suggested incorporating counseling techniques, case studies, and professional networking strategies in future sessions to further enhance the learning experience. By empowering educators and counselors with these essential skills, AIDA and Don Bosco Job Placement Network are paving the way for a more informed, career-ready generation.
