M.G.M College is an Orthodox institution of higher learning established and managed by the Diocese of Calcutta under the aegis of St. Thomas Mission Society(Reg. No. HOME/SRC-6028), Midland Nagaland. It aims at imparting higher education that is based on the Christian vision life. Christian education stresses the formation of the whole person by recognizing and developing the vast potentialities latent in the student in a balanced manner, taking into account his/her socio-cultural context.
The St. Thomas Mission society, under the aegis of Calcutta Diocese, and under the direction of St. Thomas Mission Society, Bhilai, provide service to education field. The president ship is vested in the hands of Bishop H. G Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius (Metropolitan Calcutta Diocese)
The St. Thomas Mission Society is to be formed mainly for the upliftment of the people of the weaker society and to impart fair education to all sectors of stratum without being bias and help them be independent in all walks of life.
The Society felt the need for the educational empowerment of students and felt that the right to education should be availed by all and hence decided of providing fee concession also to the deprived family background students.
Apart from this, the Society decided to provide higher education for the students of the weaker sections of the Community. MGM Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur also run under the ageis of St. Thomas Mission Society and provide fees concession to economically weaker students
