MGM College IQAC organised the two-day national seminar on Understanding India Northeast: Ethnicity, Identity, and Issues of Conflict. It was with the collaboration of Pranab College IQAC. The seminar which was sponsored by ICSSR-NERC, provided a platform for critical discussions on ethnic diversity, identity challenges, and conflict resolution in Northeast India.
Fr Giju George, college administrator cordially welcomed the esteemed guests and emphasized the significance of this seminar in shaping one’s academic journey and fostering a deeper understanding of contemporary societal issues. By engaging with these topics, individuals can contribute to the development and progress of our society.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Samudra Gupta Kashyap, Chancellor of Nagaland University. In his keynote address, Dr. Kashyap emphasized the importance of critical thinking and the need to enhance teacher quality in the region.
The seminar featured a diverse array of presenters, including academicians and researchers from various universities, who contributed valuable insights into the unique structure and complexities of Northeast India. Overall, 23 presenters from different parts of India presented their research paper in the Hybrid mode. From college side Asst. prof. of sociology department Mr. Elithung M. Kikon presented the paper.
